AJ Wright has been on an apparent growth track since its first store opened in the third quarter of 1998. Some 15 stores were in the portfolio within a year, say company executives, who project that another 10 will be opened by the end of the year.

The deal was closed by Spaulding & Slye Colliers, which represented ownership--the Haughey Group--and by Atlantic Retail, which spoke for the retailer.
