GALVESTON-The developer of Silverleaf Seaside Resorts, a timeshare project on Galveston Island, has received approval to develop a 135-unit second phase.

The city’s planning commission has signed off on the expansion for the new timeshare beach resort that is being developed by Dallas-based Silverleaf Resorts Inc. The $15 million, 125-unit first phase of the project is about 50% sold as construction continues. Dirt will begin flying in 2002 on the 135-unit second phase. The project is located on Farm Road 3005 on the west end of Galveston, situated on the Gulf of Mexico about 50 miles south of Houston.
