The home improvement supplier, who is planning a December move-in, will use about 300,000 sf of the site as a lumber distribution center. The remaining space will be used by its affiliate, Home Depot Expo. The lease signing had been predicated on a rail line expansion by Union Pacific Railroad Co. In addition, two additional rail spurs are being laid to accommodate Home Depot's business needs.
Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc. and R.E. Perry Co. have represented Home Depot USA in the lease, with an in-house broker acting for Trammell Crow, which bought the structure in December 1999 from DSC Logistics.
