This supplier of online business tools is also planning to advance into Asheville, Greensboro, Raleigh and Wilmington, as well as the South Carolina cities of Anderson, Charleston, Columbia and Greenville, as part of a $225 million growth plan.
The company will be recruiting locally for its Charlotte office and expects to have 25 workers in the area by early next year.
ConnectSouth faces competition from NetUnlimited, a Triad-based ISP with similar plans to expand into other parts of North Carolina and throughout the southeast.
Founded in 1996 with five employees, NetUnlimited now has 70 employees and occupies 8,000 sf in the Piedmont Triad Research Park's Albert Hall. The company wants to take another 7,000 sf on the the hall's third floor for a new data center. This would make NetUnlimited the park's largest employer.
