Following a $75,000 study to revitalize Hallandale Beach Boulevard, the city is now considering spending $4 million on capital improvements and revising 30-year-old building regulations so they're more development-friendly.
Lechter hopes the changes will allow him to proceed on the nine-acre site with his plans for a 50,000-sf office building. There would also be a free-standing drug store he hopes to lease to CVS, the Rhode Island-based chain expanding into South Florida.
