About 60% of the brokers disagree office is overbuilt and 50% agree the multifamily sector is saturdated.

The brokers' views were aired at the board's annual fall forecast luncheon at the Omni Hotel. The Charlotte markets will be growing steadily over the next decade but not at the feverish development pace they previously recorded, the experts say.

They expect to see 2.5 million sf of office 2.5 million sf of industrial; and 300,000 sf of retail developed next year. Karnes Research Co. finds more than 23 office buildings totaling nearly 3.2 million sf were under construction in Charlotte at the end of the second quarter.
