Couple that with the need for a special permit to have an ATM at the location, and officials now say the Downtown offices won't open until next May, about the same time a third, 3,000-sf Vancouver Key Bank branch will open in Cascade Park, next to G.I. Joe's in space formerly occupied by a children's gym. Key Bank's existing Vancouver branch is at Mill Plain Boulevard and 164th Avenue, in the Fisher's Landing area.

The Cascade Park location will house only four employees, and be a traditional teller-row arrangement, Sacamoto says. The Main Street branch will house 12 employees in a relatively new format that provides specialists for each of the company's different lines of business, including small business, corporate and retail. Sacamoto doesn't expect it will be tough to generate new deposits. "We have had a large demand from our Portland (business) customers for a Downtown Vancouver facility," Sacamoto said. "So we already have a customer base."

The Main Street location is being leased from The Al Angelo Co. Sacamoto wasn't sure who owns the Cascade Park location. The company is not releasing its lease rate for either property, she said.
