VANCOUVER, WA-Giving the former US Bank building on Main Street a Key Bank makeover is taking a little longer than expected. Ohio-based Key Bank was to have opened the 14,000-sf Downtown location already, but “it didn’t look the way we wanted it to look,” says bank spokeswoman Debby Sacamoto. Sacamoto couldn’t say exactly what that “look” is, but did say that making it happen involves changing the building’s roofline.

Couple that with the need for a special permit to have an ATM at the location, and officials now say the Downtown offices won’t open until next May, about the same time a third, 3,000-sf Vancouver Key Bank branch will open in Cascade Park, next to G.I. Joe’s in space formerly occupied by a children’s gym. Key Bank’s existing Vancouver branch is at Mill Plain Boulevard and 164th Avenue, in the Fisher’s Landing area.
