The 17-year-old, family-owned and operated plastics manufacturing company paid Lord Baltimore Properties, owner of South Point Business Park, $972,000 or $81,000 per acre ($1.86 per sf) for a 12-acre parcel.

The manufacturer plans to build a $5-million, 54,000-sf plant on the site that can handle an additional 170,000-sf expansion. The land is off Carowinds Boulevard near Interstate 77.

The company had considered several sites in South Carolina but after weighing South Carolina incentives against lower property taxes in North Carolina, the firm decided to remain in Charlotte.
