BuildNet Cuts Staff by 20% in Streamlining Move

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC-The acquisition of 10 competitors over the past 15 months is forcing the company to eliminate overlapping positions.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC-In an effort to streamline efficiencies and continue on its strong growth path, locally-based BuildNet is reducing its work force by about 20%.

The elimination of overlapping positions in administration, development and consulting results from BuildNet’s acquisition of 10 companies over the past 15 months. The reduction comes at a time when BuildNet anticipates continued growth over the next several years.

For example, BuildNet has contracted with 27 additional national builders to provide business-to-business electronic commerce services. Eighty builders have signed agreements with BuildNet to date.
