Through the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health, an anonymous donor has provided $31.8 million for Stanford University's planned Vera Moulton Wall Center for Pulmonary Disease. Square footage and final cost estimates for the building, which will serve adults and children with pulmonary vascular disease, have not yet been announced.

The David and Lucile Packard Foundation will give a $1.4 million grant to the Redwood City School District for development of day-care centers at Taft, Fair Oaks, John Gills, Selby Lane and Roosevelt elementary schools. About $450,000 in annual state funds will pay for the centers' operations and staff. Construction on the day-care centers is expected to begin next spring. No set completion date has been announced.
