SAN MATEO, CA-City council members here gave the go-ahead this week for construction to begin on the Pacific Bay Building. The three-story, 57,000-sf office building is slated for a 2.87-acre parcel at the corner of East Third Avenue and Mariner’s Island Boulevard at the foot of the San Mateo Bridge.

The project adds office space to an area in hot demand as space-seeking tenants continue to expand outside of the Valley’s inner core. Snyder Langston and Pacific Bay Homes LLC are developing the building. CB Richard Ellis’ Foster City office has the listing. Construction is expected to begin later this year, but a firm start date has not yet been announced. “Given its … location and its strong design, the Pacific Bay Building will attract a first-rate tenant,” Pacific Bay Homes senior vice president Scott Goldie said when announcing the project’s approval. No potential tenants have yet been specified.
