Developers Plan 530-Acre Business Park

TRACY, CA-Today, this town on the easternmost edge of Silicon Valley juggles an agricultural and residential nature. But developers of the Tracy Gateway business park see the town as a future industrial player.

TRACY, CA-It wasn’t too long ago that Silicon Valley locals thought of this rural town as far, far away. But with land becoming scarcer closer to the Bay, skyrocketing rents have pushed tenants, and therefore developers, out to this I-580 city.

Chicago-based HDR Architecture is designing the 530-acre “Tracy Gateway” business park. The proposed park would not only feature 5.8 million sf of offices and 650,000 sf of other commercial and retail space, but also a golf course and eye-catching globe with the “Tracy Gateway” logo. Rancho Cordova-based developer Piff & Associates would be in charge of construction. The firm envisions housing 250,000 new employees at the park. The developer has said it would like to begin construction within the next two years.
