Lansing Township recently approved a planned unit development for 191 acres at U.S. 127 and Lake Lansing Road. The PUD, which amended the master plan, was prompted by the development proposed by Michael Eyde of East Lansing. The owner of the property, Eyde presented plans at a township meeting to develop an 800,000-sf mall, big box stores and restaurants. AIG Baker Shopping Center Properties of Birmingham, Ala. would build the mall.

The plan also includes a 550,000 outdoor mall, similar to a downtown shopping development, said Deputy Supervisor DeAnn Overton. Jeffrey R. Anderson Real Estate of Cincinnati would build the second facility."We're now waiting for Eyde to submit an application for rezoning the property, and a site plan," Overton said.

The property is currently zoned mostly residential.
