SEATTLE-Banner Bank, the commercial banking subsidiary of Walla Walla-based First Washington Bancorp, now called Banner Corp., is opening its first Seattle branch. Albert Marshall, vice president of Investor Relations for Banner Corporation, says the decision to move into downtown Seattle is based on the bank’s mission to become the premier commercial bank in the Pacific Northwest.
The branch, set to open Nov. 14 in 2,800 sf in the 1001 Broadway Building, brings the banks’ total number Puget Sound locations to eight. Other area locations include Woodinville, Bellevue, Renton, Kirkland, Everett, Bothell and Redmond. Two weeks ago, Banner Corp. announced plans to change its name from First Washington Bancorp and consolidate the names of its 38 bank outlets – which included Towne Bank, Whatcom State Bank, Seaport Citizens Bank, First Savings Bank of Washington.
