Marriott Hotel Opens in Pontiac

DETROIT-The 11-story, $44-million facility is the 40th Marriott in the Detroit metro area. It features 290 rooms, 15,000-sf of meeting space, 13 private meeting/banquet rooms and a grand ballroom.

DETROIT-Etkin Equities Inc. recently opened the Marriott at Centerpoint in Pontiac. The 11-story full service hotel was built by Southfield-based Etkin for $44 million. It is located next to the Centerpoint Business Campus, a former General Motors factory-turned business park.

White Lodging is managing the new hotel, one of the city’s tallest buildings. “We’re in a key trade area next to General Motors and Daimler-Chrysler facilities, where not many other full-service hotels are located,” says Bob Farmery of White Lodging.
