FEDERAL WAY, WA-Opus Northwest, a Bellevue-based developer, has secured an agreement to purchase the Evergreen Industrial Park in Federal Way, a trucker’s oasis that has been operating since 1957. The developer, who has declined to disclose the purchase price for the 20-acre site, has already filed a preliminary site plan with the city that designates 259,700 sf for retail space anchored by a grocery store and various retail outlets.
The site is expected to be a prime retail location because it is located near the junction of Interstate 5 and Highway 18, across from a busy retail complex anchored by Costco. Opus officials say they have already fielded significant interest from potential tenants, expect to complete the project by the summer of 2002.
