Yamaha Expands Its Newnan Operations

ATLANTA-Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corp. of America has opted to expand its existing operations in Newnan, about 45 miles southwest of Atlanta. The new $50-million plant will manufacture golf carts and will add as many as 300 new jobs to the area.

Yamaha’s factory in Newnan produces jet skis and all-terrain vehicles and was looking to add golf carts to its production in the Southeast. Coweta County established a new charter technical skills high school to train students for jobs in the area. Local business and industry leaders along with West Central Technical College form partnerships with local industries and set the school curriculum based on the needs of those industries.
