California Chip Maker Seeks 6,000 SF for New Technology Center

RALEIGH, NC-Silicon Access Networks Inc. of San Jose, CA plans to be in business here by yearend with a staff of 30. The software manufacturer hopes set up partnerships with other third-party hardware and software companies that use its new chipset.

RALEIGH, NC-Hoping to capitalize on the area’s talent pool, Silicon Access Networks Inc. of San Jose, CA is setting up a new technology center here by yearend with an initial staff of 30. Raleigh is 150 miles northeast of Downtown Charlotte. The company is negotiating for 6,000 sf of permanent office space while it works out of temporary quarters at Office Suites Plus in the Crab Tree Valley Center here.

In addition to developing its normal line of network products, the semiconductor manufacturer has developed a new chipset for Ethernet routers, switches and Internet devices. Silicon Access plans to establish partnerships with other third-party hardware and software companies that use its new chipset. The three-year-old, privately-held firm has 150 employees at its headquarters and two other technology centers in San Jose and Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
