After scouring the entire Bay Area for a new site, the San Jose-based company selected the South Fremont location because of its proximity to affordable housing and communities where land is still available to build. Catellus plans to break ground next spring for the Cisco portion of the Pacific Commons project, which may be completed in less than two years. In addition, the networking giant has two deals to build a 760,000-sf campus in Dublin--with the option to take another 250,000-sf of space--and 290,000-sf in Pleasanton. Both deals are being handled by The CAC Group of San Francisco.
