City in Search of Consensus on Senior Center Developments

FREMONT, CA-The city has been planning to develop three new senior centers over the next 30 years, but the reception the first project is getting has officials rethinking their plans.

FREMONT, CA-In trying to cater to its senior citizens, city officials are finding the rest of its population wants the same treatment. The city has been planning to develop three new senior centers over the next 30 years, but the reception the first project is getting has officials second-guessing themselves.

The first project was to be a 16,000-sf senior center with space for all-ages community programs. The all-ages folk, however, think it should at least be the other way around. At most, they want the city to instead build a 10,000-sf community center and a 6,000-sf senior center.
