Construction on the interior of the casino should be finished by the busy holiday season, but exterior renovations will not be completed until spring, according to a casino spokesperson. The riverboat casino was sold by Hilton Hotels Corp. to Isle of Capri Casinos Inc., which is based in Mississippi, last summer.

Also recently slowed by construction were numbers at the Argosy Casino. Nearly a year of road construction along US 69 had made an impact there. Argosy officials are still deciding on whether to take on their own construction project and replacing a small casino with a single-deck barge.

Coming up may be even more activity around the Station Casino Kansas City and Harrah's North Kansas City Casino & Hotel. Station Casino may be purchased in the near future by Las Vegas-based Ameristar Casino Inc. and the addition of a $20-million parking structure may follow the sale. Plans call for Harrah's to undergo a $45-million renovation that will replace its smaller boat with a second deck on the larger boat.
