In spite of the receivership, the mall has been gaining new permanent tenants, which now total 120. The 722,000-sf retail property also has added nearly 50 temporary tenants for the Christmas season, not counting kiosks. Remaining permanent space of 25,000 sf is available for prices ranging from $25 per sf to $50 per sf depending on size and location.
Two years previous, the mall had submitted plans for a 275,000-sf expansion, with a multiplex theater at the heart of the expansion, but the project was put on hold. Curran explained, "The multiplex theater was pivotal to the expansion, but with all the problems in the theater industry, the timing was wrong." Curran expects to see a remodel of the mall within the next year and a half. "We are very optimistic about where the Everett Mall is going, she says."
