The plant is expected to open toward the end of the first quarter next year. The plant will employ about 25 workers who will produce about 50,000 linear yards of fabric each week. The North Kansas City plant produces about 200,000 linear yards per week.
Barry Oltsik, the company's vice president of manufacturing, is overseeing the plant in Mexico. Fabric-Quilt was founded in 1962 and had revenues last year of $36 million.
