Matco has its international headquarters in Prescot, at 2054 Willo Creek Road, and has purchased 130 acres west of downtown Prescott, adjacent to the master-planned community of Forest Trails. The company has presented plans to Prescott's Planning and Zoning Commission for approval, which include 300,000 sf of office space, a helipad and several single-family homes.

Matco currently has its headquarters in four office buildings in Prescott at 2054 Willo Creek Rd. The parcel there is zoned for nine buildings, which the company plans to build on. The company would relocate from its current location to the new headquarters once its completed and would either lease or sell its vacated space, company officials told GlobeSt.com.

The proposed headquarters would house approximately 375 employees.

If the plans were approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission at their meeting on Dec. 14, then the issue would go to the Prescott City Council for the final decision.

The Prescott area has been one of the fastest growing rural areas in the state. Prescott is approximately 120 miles north of Phoenix and has a population of 50,000. <p
