Telecom Hotel Heads into Southfield Area

SOUTHFIELD - Switch and Data Facilities of Tampa is a building new facility to handle data switching for the metro Detroit.

SOUTHFIELD – A new telecommunications hotel is headed to the Detroit area. Switch and Data Facilities Co., based in Tampa, FL, is building the new hotel in Southfield on Lahser Road. The facility, about 20,000 sf, will cost approximately $3.5 million, according to company officials.

The hotel will be located within yards of an Ameritech Corp. central office and relay station, in order to capitalize on handling as many carriers as possible in the Detroit area.
