City planning commissioners voted unanimously last week to rezone the site of Vignette's proposed expansion on East Cesar Chavez Street just west of Interstate 35. The immediate area includes residential and multifamily units as well as some small businesses. The new headquarters will include at least two 25- to 30-story buildings and a parking garage.

Vignette Corp. has 2,300 employees at its world headquarters on Austin's Mopac Boulevard. The company also has offices in South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Vignette Corp. is a supplier of e-business applications to connect businesses with prospects and customers and assist businesses with transactions with suppliers.
