SLEEPY HOLLOW, NY-The much anticipated plan for the redevelopment of the former General Motors assembly plant on the shoreline of the Hudson River here should be released before year’s end. The new time frame for the project, that has been consistently delayed by the automaker, appears to be finally ready for the public.

“We’re hoping to have one of the initial phases of the project unveiled between Thanksgiving and Christmas,” Sleepy Hollow Mayor Philip E. Zegarelli, says.General Motors had originally scheduled an October 1999 release of its redevelopment plan for the former minivan assembly plant property. Since then, it has delayed release of its plans at least four times.

In fact, the mayor relates, “The delay has been turned out to be good because they have been able to digest the suggestions we have made.”
