FULLERTON, CA-At its monthly meeting Tuesday night the City Council voted to continue the approval of a conditional use permit for a mixed-use project until its next meeting on Jan. 17, 2001.

The project, consisting of 183 apartments and 1,700 sf of commercial space in a five-story building with subterranean parking garage, is expected to have a floor area ratio (FAR) of 2.38. Built on 18 assembled parcels purchased from six different owners, the building will be on property located in 100 blocks of E. Whiting and Chapman avenues in the city’s downtownarea.

The project, developed by the Morgan Group of Houston, TX has the city’s support. “A developer isn’t going to come in to Fullerton from Houston and put together a $35-million mixed-use project without some encouragement from the city,” says Gary Chalupsky, Fullerton’s Director of Redevelopment & EconomicDevelopment.
