Brix wanted to stay in this area because of its central location in the Greater Boston area. "There are potential employees within a 30-minute ride from Eastern Massachusetts, Southern New Hampshire and Central Massachusetts, " John H. Ricciardone, director of corporate communications for Brix tells GlobeSt.com. "We are now literally one exit below Route 495, which is one of the main tech hubs in Eastern Massachusetts."

The stand-alone two-story brick building is about 15 miles from Waltham and is home to a number of high -tech companies such as Sun Microsystems, Sycamore Networks, Astral Point Communications and Kronos Inc. The company's previous office was nearly 11,000 sf of space, but Brix will now occupy 31,000 sf of space. The company has plans to double the number of its 100 employees within a year. "Things are happening very quickly," says Ricciardone. "What used to take years to do is now speeded up by Internet time."
