New Extended Stay Hotel Opens in Auburn Hills

AUBURN HILLS, MI - Holiday Inn enters Michigan with extended stay idea, opens new Staybridge Suites.

AUBURN HILLS, MI – Holiday Inn has jumped into Michigan with its first extended-stay hotel. The Staybridge Suites by Holiday Inn opened at the corner of Featherstone and Opdyke in Auburn Hills Tuesday. The facility cost about $10 million to build, and has 118 suites, and one- and two-bedroom rooms. The average guest stays about 11 nights, say company officials.

“The extended-stay market is the fastest growing segment of the hospitality industry today, and the trend is expected to continue due to changing corporate and leisure travel needs,” says Holiday Corp. general manager Janice Hurick. The company built the hotel in Auburn Hills to reach the automobile manufacturers and suppliers, including Daimler-Chrysler in the city and General Motors Corp. in Warren and Detroit.
