Economic Development Corporation Wins RE Global Innovators Award

NEW YORK CITY-The International Development Research Council Foundation has presented the Global Innovators Award to the city's Economic Development Corporation president Michael G. Carey for Digital NYC: Wired to the World.

NEW YORK CITY-The city’s program, Digital NYC:Wired to the World, has been awarded the Global Innovators Award in Strategic Corporate Real Estate and Infrastructure Management by the International Development Research Council Foundation. The New York City Economic Development Corporation created Digital NYC to expand the high-tech industry throughout the five boroughs.

Digital NYC offers hudreds of thousands of Internet ready office space in eight specially designated districts throughout the city to companies. This space at reduced prices and when combined with other financial incentives is aimed at attracting industry to New York and to maintain its position as a top city for technology. This is one of the city’s most successful programs to accomodate high-tech and new media companies looking to relocate or expand here.
