The $2.6 million commitment tops the aggregate $2.05 million that is coming from the city of Orlando and Orange, Seminole, Lake and Osceola counties. That's the first time in 30 years private money has exceeded public doles.
The EDC plans to add two employees, increasing its staff to 34. The promotional agency is bullish on the area's growing high-tech sector, pitching that category hard to out-of-state corporations.
