Louisville Auto Supplier to Open Plant in Michigan

CHARLOTTE, MI-The city and the State of Michigan offer the company over $1.5 million in tax abatements to build an assembly plant here, a $10 investment by the company that will create 50 jobs.

CHARLOTTE, MI – Tire and Wheel Assembly Inc. has announced plans to locate its assembly plant in the City of Charlotte, MI. The new 66,000-sf facility, located in Combs Park, will create 50 new jobs in the next two years. The new plant will supply tire and wheel assemblies to General Motors Corp. The project involves a company investment of about $10 million. Construction on the project will begin immediately with completion scheduled for spring 2001.

The company will receive a 50% abatement of the six-mill state education tax worth up to $122,800 over 12 years, and a state sales tax exemption with an estimated value of $420,000. Capital Choice assisted T&WA in conducting many early tours of the area. The city offered T&WA a property tax abatement worth up to $1.026 million over 12 years.
