Tucon To Build 290,000 SF Albemarle Point in Chantilly, VA

DULLES, VA-A six-building office park in Chantilly, VA is due to deliver its first three buildings in mid-2001. Dalton Ventures, a subsidiary of Du Pont Fabros Development of Washington, DC named Tucon Construction LLC of Dulles, VA to build a 290,000 sf office park. Tucon broke ground on the first three of six buildings planned for Albemarle Point, with expected delivery by mid-2001, according to the company.

Albemarle Point is on a 28-acre site north of Westfields and next to the 700,000 sf National Reconnaissance Office headquarters. The site can be accessed from Route 50, Route 28 via Willard Road, and Lee Road. All six buildings will be steel-framed and clad in brick masonry and green-tinted glass, with similar details to promote a campus feel. The site has access to multiple fiber-optic cable providers.

Tenants will determine their own interior build-out for all six buildings, with the landlord offering tenant improvement allowances. Tenants can lease an entire building, or as little as 5,000 sf. Underground conduits will permit all six buildings to be inter-connected. The leasing agents for Albemarle Point are Caulley Deringer and Hank Dudgeon of Transwestern Commercial Services.
