The new facility is slated for the corner of South Bascom and Moorpark Avenues, on the existing VMC campus. It will be used in part to consolidate outpatient operations located in four separate San Jose locations. Additionally, the VMC is planning a brand new outpatient facility at Tully and Center Roads. The $21-million, 50,000-sf facility is slated for completion in 2003.
VMC officials say they are looking forward to vacating their existing cramped facilities, as well as $10 million in new equipment that also is planned for the new buildings. Neither an architect nor a general contractor has been chosen for the projects, and no firm construction timeline has been announced.
