DeLand is 38 miles north of Downtown Orlando and is rapidly becoming another bedroom community for many Orlando executives and employees. The price Arvida paid for Kathy Sanders Realty was not disclosed. The 15-year-old, 26-agent brokerage is at 201 W. Plymouth Ave. in Downtown DeLand.
The acquisition increases Arvida's Central Florida office count to eight. Statewide, Arvida's 100 offices project they will do $8 billion in gross sales this year. Kathy Sanders, who will remain with the Arvida group, has been in real estate since 1978. Her firm concentrated on servicing nearby communities such as Seville, Pierson, Barberville, DeLeon Springs, Lake Helen, Orange City, DeBary and Deltona, a market that will now fall under Arvida's banner.
