MCE, the lead contractor on the Big Dig, paid $52 million for the 336,000-sf building last summer, which it is converting to Class A office space. The former factory building is located on the Boston Harbor and is the site of the Boston Tea Party.
MCE did not return calls by press time but the company's vice president, Robert Shepard is quoted as saying that his firm is negotiating with three tenants who could lease up to 80% of the building. In addition, Regis, a shared-office company, signed a letter of intent to lease multiple floors in the building. MCE is using Trammell Crow as its exclusive leasing agent. The building's completion is slated for August.
