But Orlando-based Boyd Development plans to resubmit a project application next week when Halverson Development Corp., the landowner, will appear to answer the residents' anti-construction arguments. Halverson is building a Publix supermarket at the same location as the planned 7-Eleven store on the northeast corner of U.S. 27 and Hartwood Marsh Road.

Residents had previously opposed the Publix project but accepted the development when the developer assured them it would not be a 24-hour operation. The Kings Ridge community is one of the most powerful political and pro-environmental groups in Lake County, packing the council chambers at every meeting.
