SAN FRANCISCO-Gap Inc. is taking 283,000-sf of new space in San Francisco’s Mission Bay district being developed by Catellus Development Corp. The Gap signed a 15-year lease for the building, and will use the six-story structure for the expansion of its headquarters.

The building is part of Catellus’ hallmark development – a $4 billion project – that will include 5 million-sf of office space, more than 6,000 residential units and up to 70,000-sf of retail shops. In addition, the project will also include a 500-room hotel, parks and recreational amenities and the new life sciences research campus for the University of California at San Francisco.
