Dell Computer Launches Fifth Tech Lab Worldwide

ROUND ROCK, TX-Dell Computer is setting up its fifth tech lab worldwide in the headquarters of a Minnesota-based partner. The northward expansion seals a strategy to put customers in every corner of the US at Dell's fingertips.

ROUND ROCK,TX-Dell Computer Corp. has extended its customer reach northward, opening a technology solutions center within Imation Corp.’s Oakdale, MN headquarters. Dell’s new center will occupy 3,000 sf in Imation’s storage area network solutions lab. The center is the fifth of its kind worldwide for Dell Corp. The company operates similar facilities in Austin, Florham Park, NJ, Limerick, Ireland and Shanghai, China.

A Dell source tells GlobeSt.com that Dell’s Imation center helps the company serve its business customer base from nearly every corner of the US. “If anything, we’ll be looking to the West Coast for our next location,” the source tells GlobeSt.com.

The center allows Dell customers to perform validation testing, performance tuning and scalability testing of business solutions. Imation will facilitate testing at and offer storage and lab administration for Dell customers.
