Officials Approve Acquisition for Library Location

KANSAS CITY, MO. - The downtown library will move into former Bank of America building, after renovations costing about $32 million.

KANSAS CITY, MO. – After receiving approval from the directors last week, next week officials with the Kansas City Public Library will complete the aquisition of the vacant Bank of America building at 10th Street and Baltimore Ave. The library currently leases space at 311 E. 12th Street from the Kansas City School District. Plans call for the move to be completed in the first quarter of 2003. Renovation is expected to cost about $32 million. Funding will be secured from public and private sources.
