The appointment, which became effective last Friday, has Mathis assuming responsibility for Greenwich Capital's finance, accounting, treasury and internal reporting operations. She reports to Greenwich Capital's co-CEOs, Ben Carpenter and Jay Levine. Greenwich Capital Markets is a leading investment banking firm specializing in fixed-income securities and is headquartered in Greenwich, CT.

Mathis joins Greenwich Capital after 12 years at Coopers & Lybrand, and its successor, PricewaterhouseCoopers, most recently as a partner and a member of its Capital Markets Group.

"Carol was our outside auditor and consultant and knows our business and our culture," Carpenter states. "She is a proven leader and manager who can tackle challenging issues." Mathis replaced John Ryan, who had previously announced his retirement after 16 years with Greenwich.
