New REIT Statistical Report Covers 75% of the Market

NEW YORK CITY-A new report published by Fitch, the international rating agency based here, provides financial coverage ratios and other statistical data for 40 of the largest debt issuers of the real estate investment trust industry. The 49-page “Fitch REIT Bond Credit Index” covers approximately three-quarters of the industry’s outstanding senior unsecured notes, medium-term notes, subordinated debt and preferred stock. These firms represent an aggregate of approximately $163 million of the industry’s total market capital at the end of the third quarter.

To help investors monitor issuer and industry trends, the report features a variety of coverage and leverage ratios based on analytical spreadsheets prepared for each issuer.
