Opus Northwest Plans Shopping Center On Already Developed Site

FEDERAL WAY, WA-A restaurant, hotel, Evergreen Truck Stop and Flying J Travel Plaza, would need to be demolished to make way for the 250,000-sf retail complex, and at least one of the businesses doesn't want go just yet.

FEDERAL WAY, WA-Opus Northwest LLC has plans for a shopping center here, but may find opposition from tenants currently occupying the site. The company, a Portland, OR-based member of the Minneapolis-based Opus Group, has an option to purchase 20 acres on South 348th St. and Pacific Highway S., and reportedly plans to break ground on the center next summer.

According to reports, Opus is negotiating with supermarket, drugstore and several major retail chains as prospective tenants in the 250,000-sf complex, to be known as Opus Crossing. Existing businesses on the property, including a restaurant, hotel, Evergreen Truck Stop and Flying J Travel Plaza, would need to be demolished to make way for the project.
