The San Antonio tire wholesaler has its computers up and running and is ready to expand its business in Houston. Space has been leased from Wallisville Partners I Ltd. The leased space includes warehousing and office facilities.

This is Homann's first site in the Houston region. For years, the firm has been trucking in tires from San Antonio, 200 miles west of Houston to serve area customers. Now the company has bowed to the rising need for a Houston distribution center, according to Kathy Smistrla, executive assistant at the new site.

"Our goal is 30,000 units out of the Houston warehouse in our first year here," Smistrla told GlobeSt.com. "We've been in business for 20 years in San Antonio, but we're expanding and ready to do business here." The warehouse will supply customers throughout an area that stretches from Galveston to Lufkin
