Cogent Communications Inks National Contract With Crescent Real Estate

WASHINGTON, DC-Crescent Real Estate Equities’ properties will soon be connected to cyberspace, according to Cogent Communications Inc., which has signed a contract with the REIT. The arrangement enables Cogent to install fiber-optics facilities and sell its 100 Mbps Internet access service to tenants in Crescent’s class A office buildings. Crescent specializes in the ownership, management and leasing of upscale commercial properties.

The master agreement covers 57 properties in Crescent’s office portfolio. This includes sites in major metropolitan markets in seven states and the District of Columbia. The agreement adds about 25,000 sf, housing over 1,600 tenants, to Cogent’s all-optical network.
