A center also has opened in Richmond, VA. Conway says Bessemer's 100-door service center will cut transit times in 560 freight delivery lanes in the southeastern US. The center is a key relay point for next-day service, says Con-Way president and CEO John T. Hickerson. The openings are part of an expansion plan that has been adding more than 100 dock doors per month at 400 service centers in the US and Canada.
Con-Way operates 101 service centers for its 7,800 trucking fleet in 12 states in the south and southeastern US.
