Home Depot already has broken ground on one of nine outparcels for a home improvement outlet. The mall will be anchored by a SuperTarget store. Other big-box tenants, currently negotitating for space, are Belk's department store, Linens & Things, Marshall's, Michael's, an arts and crafts supply store, Office Max, Old Navy and PetsMart.
Henry County political and civic leaders have been behind the project which is expected to create 1,200 jobs and generate sales tax revenues for the county.
