"Our initial investment went very well," Patrick Ward, the company's local spokesman tells GlobeSt.Com. Ward is referring to the $800 million Intel has invested in the plant over the past year to upgrade the microchip factory. "This investment will continue to prepare Intel to be the leader in the industry."
Intel bought the plant from Digital Equipment Corp. in 1998. According to Ward, the site here is the company's largest on the East Coast. This investment will be the firm's first big construction on this site.
